Welcome to UGLYSONIC!

In May 2019, the first trailer for the Sonic film caused an uproar – not because of spectacular special effects, but because of a design that fans deemed „ugly.“ The CGI Sonic looked far too human, too skinny, and simply out of place – a stark departure from the beloved, spiky icon from the video games. The public shitstorm was so intense that director Jeff Fowler and the entire team were forced to completely overhaul the design, which even led to a three-month delay in the film’s release.

From this memorable moment, in which relentless fan feedback fundamentally changed the direction of a blockbuster, the idea for our memecoin, UGLYSONIC, was born. This token, based on the Sonic Chain, is an homage to the power of the community and to the turning point in Sonic’s history.

We don’t just forget the Ugly Sonic! Our mission is to support the Sonicchain with this memecoin by equipping $UGLY with utilitytools.

In the long term we want to build staking and our own swap and hope that we can improve the Sonic chain.
